MH-PBS 1/3 are synthetic barium sulfate products offered either in 1 or 3µm sizes and are produced from highly purified reactants in a controlled growth process.
Typical Properties
- Resistant to acids and alkalis
- Insoluble in water and organic solvents
- An inert product which is lightfast and weather-resistant
- Colour-neutral, due to its low refractive index
- Extremely narrow particle-size range for high gloss specifications
- Extremely good wettability due to low specific surface area
- Low abrasion during processing due to low Mohs hardness
Storage
Product should be stored unstacked in dry and closed rooms under room temperature and normal humidity.
Applications
Paints & Coatings: Used in weather-resistant and chemical-resistant paint systems. Excellent in matt and semi-matt powder-coating systems due to good rheological properties and compatibility with colored pigments.
Paper: Used as a filler in pulp due to the chemical resistance to acids and alkalis. Excellent retention with uniform particle size structure.
Plastic and Rubber: Inert and color-neutral density enhancer in noise and vibration reduction systems. Extension levels up to 80% can be achieved. Excellent for use in adhesives, mastic compounds, epoxy resin sizing pastes, unsaturated polyester and polyurethane systems, and also in glazes and impregnation agents, grinding pastes, lubricants and separating age
